A restless stroll

Something troubled him,
like wind troubles leaves...
So he kept moving
trying to run, trying to flee,
in search of quiet and peace.
In the end, he received neither.
Regardless, he carried on,
hoping someday he'll catch them both
and they'll be his first and last.
One noon, he looked up at the sky
and asked himself, "Why do i have to journey?"
He waited for an answer
but couldn't hear a voice.
So he looked down at his feet and asked them, "Can you two stop?"
They said in unison, "Yes, we can. Not."
Dejected, he kept walking
like a moron without a cause.
Happened days, weeks, months, years and a lot.
No moment of glory awaited him
nor a distant village nor a wonderful lass.
Only the beauty of an unrequited future did.
The poor man walked and walked
till the road disappeared and his minds crossed...
Only to meet that moment of truth
resulting from a lost trail.
The wind caressed his open eyes
before entering his closed mouth,
while the ground kissed his back,
his soul left a lasting spark.
Even the sun couldn't help smiling at
his lively departure with a dead heart.

Spaced out

Everyday i notice you slipping away,
like a language dying a slow death...
without a word or two.
Everyday you shine brighter than before,
i don't see or understand how...
that ember enlightens a spark.
Everyday we shrink a bit more,
not only in lifespan but also in sight...
warm within our cold darkness.
Everyday they ask tireless questions,
when answers are way too scarce...
between us and our silence.
Everyday time tests our patience,
stares us into oblivion build by the past...
untouched or unnoticed otherwise.

Remember us?

Remember the time when nursery rhymed?
Remember the wind when our curtains chimed?
Remember the beauty that you once defined?
Remember those lies—like yours and mine?
Remember the reason why you were left behind?
Remember the place that we couldn't find?
Remember the past carpet-bombed by time?
Remember those moments that were too sublime?
Remember the envy that our friends couldn't hide?
Remember the shine in my eyes and the warmth in your smile?
Remember the passion we learned to remind?
Remember those days...seven, eight or was it nine?
Remember the doubt that wouldn't bide?
Remember the corner where you cried?
Remember the relief when we got denied?
Remember those words that traveled far and wide?
